In 2001, Joseph Pusateri, who worked for Peoples Gas Light and Coke Company, rose to the level of service supervisor. In 2009, when he was no longer employed there, he filed a complaint in the circuit court of Cook County under what was then the Whistleblower Reward and Protection Act.
