The aim of this investigation is to inform the public about how the postglacial environment in northeastern Illinois developed based on fossil and sediment records in lake and wetland deposits at the Pratts Wayne Woods Forest Preserve near Bartlett, Illinois, and how this knowledge helps increase the understanding of climate and environmental change during the transition from the last glacial period to the current interglacial period.
