People v. Stapinski
This Will County defendant was successful in winning the dismissal of an indictment charging him with possession of the controlled substance ketamine with intent to deliver. In this decision, the Illinois Supreme Court held that the circuit court had not abused its discretion in so ruling because the defendants substantive due process rights were violated after he entered into a cooperation agreement with Romeoville police that he would not be charged if he assisted in the apprehension of two drug suspects, which he did.
