This Southern Illinois University at Carbondale analysis of county-level, public-supply water use in six Midwestern states provides insights into the relationship between water use and those factors that are most likely to predict or explain water use. It makes recommendations for actions that may improve water use forecasting and infrastructure planning for drinking water systems.
