State Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Plan, covering October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014. The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS; Department) is the single state agency for planning and coordinating child abuse and neglect prevention programs and services. As such, the Department is charged to administer child abuse prevention shelters and service programs for abused and neglected children, or provide for their administration by not-for-profit corporations, community-based organizations, or units of local government.
