It takes time and practice to learn how to be a good driver. This Parent-Teen Driving Guide is a tool to help parents observe and instruct their teen drivers during the instruction permit phase of licensing. Teens must log a minimum 50 hours of practice driving, including 10 hours at night, with their parents or a responsible adult age 21 or older before obtaining a drivers license.
The Acceptable Identification Document chart (reverse) lists documents that may be used as forms of identification to provide proof of legal name, date of birth, Social Security number and residency when applying for a drivers license/ID card.
