This is the eighth report on Chicago's community policing program. The Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) was inaugurated in April 1993. After experimenting in five police districts, the program was expanded to encompass the entire city. This year ten evaluation rates the successes and weak points of the program.
Press release announcing that Governor Rod R. Blagojevich has named Alice B. Hayes, a former university president, to the Illinois Board of Higher Education. A former administrator and current Trustee at Loyola University of Chicago, Hayes will represent private colleges and universities on the Board.
