This is fourth in a series of quarterly reports to provide an update of Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) development in the Bonnie Creek Watershed. The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) is responsible for TMDL development and has contracted with Camp Dresser and McKee (CDM) to complete TMDLs within this watershed. Illinois EPA plans to complete the TMDLs for this watershed within the next five months. This quarterly report provides a brief description of progress since the last quarterly report.
During this quarter, the Illinois EPA changed its policy regarding developing TMDLs for parameters that do no have numeric water quality standards. The constituents without numeric water quality standards will be listed for causing impairment but reductions and allocations of these parameters in a numeric TMDL will not be developed at this time. In some cases, recent data also showed that segments were in full support of their uses and water quality standards, so parameters for TMDL development were deleted
