The primary mission of the Secretary of State Capitol Police is to provide complete law enforcement services to protect the assets of the State of Illinois under the jurisdiction of the Office of the Secretary of State; ensure public safety; identify and mitigate threats and analyze risk; detect and deter criminal activity; prevent loss of personal property; and assist all persons within its jurisdiction in a professional and courteous manner.
Hearing Impaired License Plates are issued to motorists who qualify with a Type 4 hearing disability pursuant to 15 ILCS 335, Section 4A, of the Illinois Identification Card Act.
