Crooked Creek Watershed TMDL Report

This report documents the analysis and findings of stage 1 of the TMDL development for water segments within this watershed. Water quality data are gathered by the IEPA, the US Geological Survey, and the USEPA. Illinois is required to identify water bodies that do not meet water quality standards and to determine the Total Maximum Daily Load for pollutants causing the impairment.

Countryside Lake Water Quality Monitoring Program: Final Report

Countryside Lake Association (CLA) started a Lake Stewardship program in 2001 following the Lake Water Quality Study completed by the Lake County Health Department Lake Management Unit (LCHDLMU) in 2000. The LMU study identified Countryside Lake as hyper-eutrophic citing phosphorous as the limiting nutrient. The CLA stewardship program focused its attention on lake water inlet quality to determine whether any of these stormwater drains represented a significant phosphorous input to the lake. The program began with grab sample collections at the major lake inlets in 2002 and 2003 and progressed to ISCO automatic composite water samplers and ultimately to selected ISCO sequential samplers. The early findings documented the baseline water quality for each inlet.

Crestwood Public Water Supply Groundwater Modeling - Bedrock Well Installation

Sampling results from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agencys (Illinois EPAs) June 2009 field work near Playfield Cleaners indicate that an area of shallow groundwater at the Playfield Plaza is contaminated with drycleaner solvent and its breakdown products, all volatile organic compounds (VOCs), originating from contaminated soils at the Playfield Cleaners site. Shallow groundwater sampling results from the field work near Playfield Cleaners and the former Crestwood Public Water Supply (PWS) Well #1 did not allow the Illinois EPA to conclusively identify Playfield Cleaners as the source of the Crestwood PWS Well #1 VOC contamination. However, we suspect that dissolved contamination from this site migrated downward into the groundwater of the bedrock and eventually contaminated the Crestwood PWS Well #1.

Decisions and Opinions of the Illinios State Labor Relations Board

On August 16, 2011, Administrative Law Judge Elaine L. Tarver issued a Recommended Decision and Order in the above-captioned case, finding that the petitioned-for bargaining unit of full-time and part-time employees in the City of Naperville's (Employer) Department of Electric and Department of Water/Wastewater was not an appropriate bargaining unit for the purposes of collective bargaining as defined by Section 9(b) of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act, 5 ILCS 315 (2010) as amended (Act), and ordering that the petition be dismissed. American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council 31 (Petitioner) filed timely exceptions to the Recommended Decision and Order pursuant to Section 1200.135 of the Rules and Regulations of the Illinois Labor Relations Board, 80 Ill. Admin. code Parts 1200 through 1240, to which the Employer filed a timely response. After reviewing the record, exceptions and response we hereby uphold the Recommended Decision and Order for the reasons set forth by the Administrative Law Judge, giving Petitioner leave to file a representation petition consistent with the Recommended Decision and Order along with the required showing of interest.
