The Electronic Documents of Illinois provides permanent public access to official publications of the State of Illinois which have been deposited in electronic form.
The Illinois State Genealogical Society (ISGS) issues Prairie Pioneer Certificates to applying direct descendants of pioneers who settled in Illinois prior to 1881. The three categories of commemorative certificates are: 1) 1818 and earlier, 2) 1819-1850, and 3) 1851-1880. To date, the ISGS has published two volumes, which provide information from certificate applications approved through 1987 in this ongoing project.
