The Little Village Gang Violence Reduction Project in Chicago

This book is about the Little Village Gang Violence Reduction Project, which was based on the idea that the gang problem is defined not only by the delinquent or criminal behaviors of gangs and gang members but also by what the community institutions do or do not do to prevent and control the problem. Certain youth and the community together - including its component parts, particularly family, police, schools, youth agencies, probation, churches and neighborhood organizations and political administrations as well as larger social, economic and cultural factors - are responsible for the creation and intensification of the problem. The model proposes that a special structure of these agencies and community groups must be developed to focus and implement strategies toward target youth in gang-problem communities.

Design and Construction Manual

While this version of the A/E contract documents appears quite different from the versions of the past few years, little has actually changed regarding A/E duties and responsibilities. We have consolidated all detailed project phase requirements - from design through closeout - into one manual, so the A/E will have one reference to look to. The legalese, all the things that make a contract, insurance requirements, and a skeleton description of A/E duties and responsibilities are now included in the PSA. The detailed requirements of the old A/E Manual, the Project Manual Workbook, and A/E duties included in Procedures and Forms - Construction Phase are incorporated into this new Design and Construction Manual.

CLEAR and I-CLEAR: A Report on New Information Technology in Chicago and Illinois

This is the fourth evaluation report on the status of new information technology enterprise systems under development by the Chicago Police Department and the Illinois State Police. The first part of this report looks at CLEAR application development and usage as well as its impact on officers using the various modules. It also provides a glimpse at CLEARpath, the Chicago Police Department's newest suite of applications aimed at strengthening the city's police-community partnership. The second part of the report showcases I-CLEAR development and the Illinois State Police-Chicago Police Department partnership that has guided the construction of the I-CLEAR case management system. Observations and recommendations complete the report. This report covers progress and activities through the end of April 2007.

Blagojevich vs Madigan: Memorandum of Law in Support of defendant Michael J. Madigans motion to dismiss

The lawsuit, brought by Governor Blagojevich, sought a judicial determination that a house of the General Assembly violated the Constitution by assembling earlier than he specified for special sessions. The defendent contends that the Court should dismiss the Complaint for failing to include the Senate President, decline jurisdiction over this action, and dismiss the matter with prejudice on the merits.
